Swords Celtic FC are looking to raise funds for a much needed all weather pitch in Balheary.
Therefore, we attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the most players to participate in a 7-a-side soccer exhibition match. This event took place on the 10th of May 2025. We are hopeful that we did break the record in what was a wonderfully special day for the club and the wider community.
Any donations are still very welcome and appreciated.

Swords Celtic Football Club established 60 years ago and today is widely regarded as one of the foremost junior soccer clubs In Ireland.
Back in 1962 from a humble beginning, little was it realized the way the club would progress to its present size.
The fact that some founder members are still involved today to see the transformation is testimony of their dedication.
For over 21 years Swords Celtic succeeded in fielding two senior teams and three youth teams. However, it soon became necessary to incorporate a youth policy to ensure a life-blood for the club.
As luck would have it, in a neighboring parish a ready-made schoolboy club existed, and in 1983 Swords Celtic merged with St. Cronan’s Schoolboy Club.
Today, the club is thriving with a membership of 800 that includes 43 School boy/girl teams. We also have a boys and girls academy, Football for All camps. Along with our fantastic youth system we have 5 Senior Teams.
We have six full sized pitches, four 5-a-side pitches, one 9-a-side pitch, one 7-a-side pitch and two 7-a-side astro pitches all complimented by our state-of-the-art clubhouse.
